Whilst Creekside

In a fit of wonder

off we go to the

place we started

from with renewed

purpose in our

hands and an old

song in our hearts

and nothing but the

thirst for wisdom

stuck in our heads

If I told you that

I can walk through

walls and see around

corners and glimpse

possible futures

would you drop

the pretense that

anything is real and

join with me in the

pure joy of magic?

We all have power

to reanimate lost

causes & hopes &

loves & lives &

most importantly

the soul of a

world turned into

a machine by those

barons of ill-fated

flights from reality

The times & tides

rush forth in the

midst of knowing

that we glimpse but

a morsel of life

a mere grain of vast

beaches scattered

like shattered

jewels of hesitant

existence ebbing

& flowing forever

NOTE: written aside a dry creek circa Spring 2026, while whittling sticks (not a misprint!) in the quest for some bucolic life that never actually existed except for brief moments when stars and soils aligned but those damnable incursions of mechanized routines kept tearing at the placidity and that’s why I found myself sitting there wondering where the water was and how satisfying it is to just work with sticks and stones to make nothing in particular for no one at all…
